A white soy candle with a hand-poured wax flower in your color, a wooden lid, a ribbon and a card printed with your names and your date.
Pickup currently not available
A white soy candle with a wax flower set into the top, capped with a wooden lid, boxed in a clear box, tied with a ribbon, and wrapped with a card we print with your details.
The wick comes up through the middle of the flower, so the flower is the first thing that burns.
Pick your flower:
Small peony is a tight ruffled bloom that sits flat on the wax. It's the one in the boxed photo, in sage.
Small rose is a smaller bud with fewer petals. It reads quieter on a place setting and it's the pick if your table already has a lot going on.
Large peony fills the whole surface of the candle, edge to edge. It's the one people pick up.
Flower trio are three small blooms nestled around your wick.
Every one of them is poured by hand in the color you give us, so the flower is where your palette actually shows up.
What one favor is
- a 4 oz white soy candle in clear glass, about 3" across and 2" tall
- a wax flower on the surface, in your color, with the wick through it
- a wooden lid
- a clear box around the whole thing
- a ribbon in your color
- a card printed to match your invitation
It's small on purpose. Three inches across sits on a place setting without crowding the plate, and a guest can get it home in a coat pocket. Each one gets assembled by hand here, which is the part that makes them look like somebody meant it.
Pick a scent
Fresh Linen, Lavender Vanilla, or unscented. The first two are the same we pour for our hand soap and room spray. Fresh Linen is the safer pick for a room full of people you don't know. Lavender Vanilla is the one guests tend to comment on. Unscented is worth thinking about if you're putting fifty of these on tables in one room, or if your guest list has someone who can't be around fragrance.
Tell us which one when you send your colors.
Your colors
We need three things from you and we'll take it from there:
- the color you want the flower
- the color you want the ribbon
- somewhere we can actually see your palette, which can be your wedding website, a Pinterest board, or a photo of your invitation
We print the cards ourselves. Put the wording you want in the order notes at checkout, or send it over if you'd rather talk it through, and we'll come back with a proof. Nobody makes anything in bulk before you've seen the card and said yes.
Burning it safely
These are real candles and they get handed to guests who didn't read anything, so the card carries the short version and here is the long one.
- Trim the wick to ¼" before every lighting.
- Burn for no more than 4 hours at a time.
- Stop burning when about ½" of wax is left in the glass.
- Burn it within sight, on a heat-resistant surface, away from anything that can catch.
- Keep it away from drafts, children and pets.
- The glass gets hot. Don't move it while it's lit or while the wax is liquid.
The flower is wax, so it melts into the pool within the first hour or so and the candle levels out to a plain white surface. That's how it's supposed to go, and it's the thing guests don't expect, so it's worth a line on your card if you're printing your own.
Not only weddings
A card is a card. We've built these for weddings first because that's what people ask for, but the same favor works for a baby shower, a bridal shower, a baptism, a milestone birthday, a retirement, or a corporate event where you'd rather hand someone a candle than a branded pen. Tell us the occasion and we'll write the card for it.
Timing
Two weeks from the day you approve the proof. The candles get poured for your order rather than pulled off a shelf, and the flowers are poured separately and set by hand, which is where most of that time goes.
Build in a buffer if you're shipping them somewhere other than your own house, and talk to us early if your date is tight.
