Homeschool Art Program: Grades 7 to 12 (Fall 2026)

Fourteen Tuesday afternoons of art for grades 7 through 12, taught by Niki. These are longer, messier projects than the elementary program, and a few of them run across more than one week.

Suggested Class Schedule
Tuesdays, 1:30 to 3:30 pm, starting September 15 and running through December 15. Note: we are able to work with your group to accommodate your schedule.

What We'll Make

• Watercolor to open the fall, a whale shark and an ocean.
• A robot built out of junk, screws, and whatever trinkets we've got.
• Mushroom lanterns made of pipe cleaners and felt with a tea light inside.
• A whimsical cardboard house that takes a few weeks, with moss and bark and string lights and a working door.
• Paper mache animals over a foil and tape armature.
• Ink drawings on torn book pages.
• Self portraits done from a mirror, which is harder and more interesting than it sounds.
• A painted rock tic tac toe board.
• A spackle stencil piece on wood, worked with palette knives and a trowel.
• Mod Podge ghosts on October 27
• In December, a polymer clay treasure jar that we bake here between classes and they pick up on the last day.

Niki may adjust how many weeks a couple of these get once she sees the group.

Everything is included
Paints, watercolor paper, glue guns, exacto knives, clay, spackle, lights, the whole pile. Send them in clothes that are allowed to get ruined.

Registration stays open the whole semester
Once we're underway we drop the price on this page every week to match the classes that are left, so if you find us in October you pay for October forward and not for the weeks you missed. Whatever the price says today is what the rest of the run costs.

Worth knowing before you pick a week: the cardboard house takes three Tuesdays and the paper mache animals take two, so a late start can drop you into the middle of a build. Email us and we'll point you at a week that starts something new instead.

If you need to cancel
Email us at least 14 days before the first class and we'll refund the program fee. After that, write us anyway and we'll work out what's fair. We'd rather hear from you than have you disappear.

Not sure which program to pick?
If you have a sixth grader who's ready for the harder projects, or a seventh grader who isn't, tell us and we'll figure out which room they belong in. Same if you have kids in both groups and sitting through a morning and an afternoon on the same Tuesday is a lot. It's our first fall running this, so ask.
